Florida Atlantic University plans to conduct a comprehensive test of its emergency alert system this Wednesday. Initially set for last Friday, the test will now occur on April 16, encompassing the entire Boca Raton campus, as well as the John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter and the FAU Harbor Branch Oceanic Institute in Fort Pierce. At 2 p.m., outdoor sirens will sound as part of this safety drill.
The university will also evaluate the effectiveness of its various communication channels, including telephone alerts, text messaging, digital signage across the campuses, and the FAU Owl Ready app. This initiative aims to ensure the readiness and efficiency of emergency response systems.
For more details regarding this emergency system test, individuals are encouraged to visit the university’s official communications.
