Leon County Sheriff Walter A. McNeil revealed that Ikner had access to one of his mother’s firearms, which was among those discovered at the scene. FSU Chief Jason Trumbower clarified that the weapon was a personal handgun, initially used by the deputy as a service weapon before she purchased it after departmental replacements were made.
