A Luzerne County man faces drug-related charges following an arrest by Lackawanna County detectives in Scranton. The incident unfolded on March 14 when detectives observed a silver Hyundai Elantra with tinted windows being driven on North Main Avenue at Lafayette Street in West Scranton. The driver was later identified as Joseph White, 49, of Kingston.
Upon stopping the vehicle, authorities discovered that White did not possess a valid driver’s license. During their interaction, detectives noticed White exhibiting signs consistent with crystal methamphetamine use, such as jitteriness and heavy breathing. Further investigation led to the discovery of a bag containing three glass pipes with crystal methamphetamine residue and a digital scale.
Subsequently, White was charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of a controlled substance. His preliminary hearing is set for May 9.
