An early-morning altercation in New Haven on Sunday resulted in an arrest following a stabbing incident. Law enforcement responded to a report of a stabbing at the intersection of Ellsworth Avenue and Elm Street at 1:45 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 27-year-old man from West Haven receiving medical attention for his injuries. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.
The New Haven Police Department identified the suspect as 66-year-old Bruce McCauley, who was located in a nearby apartment. The incident reportedly arose from an argument between McCauley and the victim, who were acquainted with each other. McCauley was apprehended and charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, and interfering with an officer. Authorities set his bond at $76,000.
