The inclusion of fluoride in Miami-Dade County’s public drinking water was a focal point of discussion during the commissioners’ meeting held on Tuesday. A proposal to potentially remove fluoride was put forth, aligning with the recommendations of Florida’s Surgeon General. Commissioner Roberto Gonzalez expressed support for this move, potentially impacting the water supply policy. Should the commissioners decide in favor of banning fluoride, it will then fall upon Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava to determine whether to exercise her veto power over the legislation.
