Owen Ray, a 20-year-old student at Miami University, traveled to Denmark with a friend to visit acquaintances during spring break. According to reports, the trip took an unexpected turn when a dispute with an Uber driver led to their arrest.
Ray’s parents recounted that their son and his friend mistakenly input the wrong address into the Uber app and requested to exit the vehicle. Subsequently, the Uber driver returned, confronted them, and accused them of evading payment. Despite presenting receipts proving payment was made, the situation escalated. The Uber driver threatened to involve the police, and shortly thereafter, Ray and his friend were detained at the airport as they prepared to return home.
