A young man is facing multiple charges following an incident where his seven-month-old daughter was accidentally shot by her five-year-old sibling. This occurred on Saturday night in Ohio.

Authorities were called to the 1800 block of Sunset Avenue in Cincinnati around 9 p.m. in response to the shooting. The incident involved a five-year-old child who unintentionally shot the infant girl in the thigh. Fortunately, medical assessments have determined that her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Following the incident, Martez Jones, aged 22, was taken into custody and charged with three counts of child endangerment. Court documents reveal that Jones allegedly left a loaded and operational handgun on the bedroom windowsill where his children were present. After he exited the room, an older child reportedly handled the weapon, leading to its discharge and the injury of the baby.

Records from the Hamilton County Jail confirm that Jones remains in custody pending further legal proceedings. The situation highlights the critical need for firearm safety and responsible storage, especially in homes with young children.
