Anticipated traffic congestion is expected on the Pennsylvania Turnpike this weekend as officials project a significant increase in travelers. Approximately 2,180,000 individuals are predicted to use the turnpike by Monday, marking a 1.5% rise from the same holiday period last year.
The busiest days are foreseen to be Friday, with an estimated 610,000 travelers, and Monday, expected to see around 590,000. To accommodate the influx of vehicles, all construction activities on the turnpike have been halted until Monday evening.
In response to this increased traffic volume, turnpike personnel are enhancing their patrol efforts alongside the Pennsylvania State Police to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow.
