Just before 1:50 p.m., Gallagher was present in the FSU Law Library in Tallahassee when an alarm signaled an “active shooter” situation on campus. Reflecting on the event, Gallagher emphasized the urgent need for change, extending prayers to the victims and their families.
On the day of the incident, witnesses reported hearing gunshots near the FSU student union. Prompt action was taken by armed police officers, and FBI special agents also arrived at the scene. Authorities quickly apprehended a suspect, while six injured individuals received treatment at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare.
