Three juveniles have been apprehended following the issuance of threatening messages directed at two other juveniles residing in Pembroke Pines, as announced by local authorities. The Pembroke Pines Police Department revealed that these messages were initially linked to a romantic relationship involving one of the victims and one of the suspects.
The police disclosed that several messages were sent, which included threats to kill the victims, accompanied by a photograph of a gun shared within the chat. Upon receiving the direct threat, one of the victims promptly reported the incident by contacting 911 and utilizing the FortifyFL app.
Both victims are students at Franklin Academy; however, officials confirmed that no threats were made against the school itself, and none of the suspects are enrolled there. Despite this, due to the seriousness of the threats, school administrators were informed about the ongoing police investigation after the threats were reported on Sunday.
The male suspects, whose identities and ages have not been publicly disclosed, reside in Lake Worth, West Palm Beach, and Coconut Creek. Authorities confirmed that all three suspects voluntarily surrendered to the Pembroke Pines Police Department and are currently facing a felony charge of issuing written threats to kill. They have been booked into the Juvenile Assessment Center for further proceedings.
