Police Arrest Two Men From Out of State After Discovering Stolen Firearms in a Stolen Vehicle in Hartford

Two individuals from outside the state have been detained in Hartford following the discovery of stolen firearms and high-capacity magazines inside a vehicle reported as stolen. This incident unfolded when officers from the Hartford Police Department’s nighttime street crimes unit spotted a vehicle that had been taken from New York City. The vehicle was located near the intersection of Airport Road and Locust Street at approximately 10:48 p.m. on Friday.

Upon investigation, the officers successfully halted the vehicle and apprehended the two men involved. Warren Morgan, aged 42, from Brooklyn, New York, is facing numerous charges, including theft of a motor vehicle, second-degree larceny, possession of a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of an assault weapon, theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and possession of a high-capacity magazine.

Meanwhile, Andre Samuels, aged 32, from Ocala, Florida, has been charged with possession of a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of an assault weapon, theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and possession of a high-capacity magazine.

The police search revealed four firearms inside the vehicle, comprising a .223 caliber assault rifle and a Glock pistol, the latter of which had both its serial number obliterated and had been modified to function as a fully automatic weapon. Additionally, authorities discovered another Glock pistol, reported stolen from Southington, along with a revolver and two high-capacity magazines.

The investigation into this case is still ongoing as law enforcement continues to assess the situation. No further details have been released at this time.
