During proactive patrols in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood on Wednesday, law enforcement officials apprehended two individuals and recovered more than $1,600 along with nearly five grams of crack cocaine. The Seattle Police Department initiated the first arrest near 2nd Avenue and Blanchard Street shortly after 8 a.m. Officers on bicycle patrol identified a 33-year-old man, previously arrested for narcotics delivery on March 19 at the same location, engaging in suspicious activities.
Authorities observed this individual exchanging money with another person in return for a white substance suspected to be crack cocaine. The suspect was subsequently arrested for drug sale and delivery, with police seizing 3.6 grams of the substance and a sum of cash.
Approximately 30 minutes later, officers patrolling on bicycles identified a second suspect, aged 32, near 3rd Avenue and Bell Street. The officers witnessed the man conducting an exchange behind a white van, where he accepted cash and handed over a baggie that appeared to contain crack cocaine. After observing a second transaction, police arrested the suspect, discovering over $1,500 in cash and 1.3 grams of crack cocaine on his person.
Both individuals have been booked into the King County Jail as confirmed by the Seattle Police Department.
