Redmond Police Launch Gun Buyback Program with Gift Cards Up to $300

A voluntary gun buyback program is being offered by the Redmond Police Department this Saturday, aiming to provide a secure method for residents to dispose of unwanted firearms. Scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the event will take place at the Redmond Police Department’s North Lot located at 8707 160th Ave. NE. The initiative strives to reduce gun violence and related incidents by retrieving unnecessary firearms from the community.

The program outlines a compensation structure through gift cards as follows:

  • $300 for AR-style rifles, AK-style rifles, and automatic rifles
  • $200 for handguns, including pistols and revolvers
  • $100 for muzzleloaders, antiques, shotguns, and non-assault style rifles
  • No compensation for replicas, toy guns, BB-guns, pellet guns, or airsoft guns

Participants are advised to ensure all firearms are unloaded, with the safety engaged, and placed in the trunk of their vehicle in a gun case or box, if feasible. Ammunition will not be accepted during the event. Further details about the exchange can be found by visiting the Redmond city website at redmond.gov.
