A man with a significant theft history has been detained following a series of electronic thefts from Target stores spanning South Florida over three months, as confirmed by authorities. The suspect, identified as Xavier Charles Glass, was described by investigators as a “serial booster,” allegedly responsible for numerous thefts in both Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
An asset protection team investigator from Target reported the arrest of Glass, 38, from Opa-locka, in connection with several high-value retail thefts captured on surveillance. According to Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies, both video footage and witness statements have documented a recurring pattern of theft across multiple stores.
On February 28, Glass reportedly entered the Target store located at 14075 Biscayne Blvd. in North Miami Beach around 10:30 a.m. He proceeded to the electronics section, collecting a PlayStation 5 system valued at $499.99, two standard PS5 controllers at $199.99 each, and a special paint PS5 controller also valued at $199.99. He bypassed all payment points and left the premises, resulting in a reported store loss of $1,059.96. Later that evening, around 8:35 p.m., Glass allegedly returned to the same store, taking a $189.99 duffle bag, a Nintendo Switch, four PS5 controllers, and another special paint PS5 controller, exiting through the fire exit without payment, causing an additional $909.92 loss.
Investigators noted another theft incident occurred on March 12 at a Target near the Coconut Grove Metrorail station in Miami. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Glass entering around 1:05 p.m. and taking a suitcase worth $89.99 along with 10 PS5 controllers priced between $74.99 and $79.99, leaving without paying. This incident resulted in an $854.89 loss.
The most recent theft was reported on Sunday at the Target located at 3825 NW Seventh St. in Miami’s Flagami neighborhood. Investigators claim Glass entered just before 9 a.m., took a PS5 Pro valued at $699.99 and a Nintendo Switch for $349.99, and exited through the fire exit without payment, with the theft valued at $1,049.98. All incidents were captured on CCTV, and video evidence has been submitted to detectives.
Authorities estimate the total value of stolen items from these incidents at approximately $3,874.75. Glass has prior theft convictions, according to investigators. Jail records indicate he is facing charges of multiple thefts involving 20 items within 30 days at different locations. He is currently held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $12,500 bond.
