South Florida Man Accused of Brutally Beating Roommate’s Dog with Metal Trailer Hitch

A man has been arrested in connection with a severe case of animal cruelty involving a dog in Palm Beach County. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported that Gabriel Martinez was caught on video abusing his roommate’s dog, a 4-year-old pit bull named Gypsy. The incident was discovered when Gypsy’s owner returned home to find the dog on the ground, whimpering and bleeding.

Investigations revealed that Martinez attacked Gypsy using a metal trailer hitch and ball, causing significant injuries. The video evidence captured the brutal assault lasting four minutes and eighteen seconds. As a result, Gypsy sustained a broken paw, multiple limb fractures, bone contusions, and abdominal bruising. Authorities have indicated that she may potentially lose one of her limbs due to the severity of the injuries. Currently, Gypsy is recuperating at home.

Martinez is now facing charges of aggravated animal cruelty.
