Over the subsequent months, Yener allegedly constructed a remote trigger, researched potential bomb placement, and tasked others with obtaining explosive materials, conducting surveillance, and photographing the building. He also recorded a message intended for release to the press, explaining his motivations and anticipating catastrophic effects from the explosion.
Threats Against Federal Agents
During the same period that he was developing the bomb plot, Yener repeatedly voiced his intention to murder the law enforcement agents who had searched his storage unit. These threats are now part of the superseding indictment.
Child Sexual Abuse Material
Further investigation into Yener’s digital footprint revealed the presence of numerous AI-generated images and videos depicting child sexual abuse material on his cellphones. This discovery led to the additional charge of possession of CSAM.
