A series of incidents were reported to law enforcement on Thursday, highlighting a range of criminal activities in the area.
At 7:32 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the location at 710 Garfield Avenue. Authorities are investigating the theft.
Earlier in the day, at 12:03 p.m., police received a report of theft from a fishing boat that was parked at 1550 Blake Avenue. The investigation into the missing items is ongoing.
In another incident, Sabitas Calderon, aged 39, was taken into custody at 4:19 p.m. after being apprehended on two local warrants. The arrest took place at 521 Euclid Avenue.
Reports of attempted break-ins were also made on Thursday. At 4:29 p.m., an attempt to enter a house at 207 South Fifth Avenue was reported. Later that night, at 11 p.m., another attempt was made at 406 Frank Hall Drive. Police are following up on leads related to these incidents.
Additionally, an injury crash involving two vehicles occurred at 7:19 p.m. at the intersection of West Main Street and South Washington Avenue. In connection with the crash, Samantha Sue Weir received a citation for failing to yield the right of way.
Lastly, a vehicle’s front tire was found slashed at 11:34 p.m. at 501 West Richway Drive. The act of vandalism is being investigated by local law enforcement.
