Tampa, FL – A Texas resident, Jazzmen La Vone Gaskins, 38, has been indicted on charges of sex trafficking and transporting an individual for prostitution, according to an announcement by the United States Attorney’s Office. If found guilty on all charges, Gaskins could face a life sentence in federal prison.

The indictment reveals that between July 2023 and March 2024, Gaskins allegedly trafficked a victim, referred to as Victim 1, with the knowledge and reckless disregard that force, threats, fraud, and coercion would be employed to compel the victim into commercial sex acts. Additionally, it is alleged that on December 22, 2023, Gaskins transported another individual, Victim 2, from Texas to Florida with the intention of engaging them in prostitution and sexual activities.

The investigation into these allegations was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The case is set to be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Courtney Derry.

It is important to note that an indictment is a formal charge of criminal activity, and Gaskins, like any defendant, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
