A tragic accident claimed the life of a 59-year-old woman early Friday morning, as she was ejected from her vehicle on Interstate 84. The incident occurred near exit 5 in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. At approximately 3:40 a.m., Massachusetts State Police responded to the scene of a single-vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, troopers discovered that the vehicle had spun 180 degrees and was positioned in the middle travel lane. The woman, identified as Beth Wittenberg from Rochester, New Hampshire, was found outside the passenger cabin of the car.
The highway was subsequently closed for about three hours to facilitate a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. The cause of the accident remains under review as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the fatal incident.
