A section of a heavily trafficked road in Clark County has been temporarily closed following an early morning incident in which a pickup truck collided with a utility pole. The accident occurred on Wednesday at U.S. 40 and S. Tecumseh Road, prompting an immediate response from local authorities.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol, dispatched from the Springfield Post, arrived at the scene shortly after the crash was reported around 1:37 a.m. They confirmed that a Chevy pickup truck was involved in the collision that brought down both the utility pole and live electrical wires.
In response to the potentially hazardous situation, Ohio Edison technicians were dispatched to safely deactivate the live wires. Plans are in place to repair the damaged pole at a later time. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation.
