Two Charged in $12,000 Massachusetts Makeup Store Theft Spree, District Attorney Reports

Two individuals have been indicted for allegedly orchestrating a series of thefts from makeup stores throughout the state. Accused of stealing products valued in the thousands, Ana Pacheco, 20, and Kevin Jhonalerth Pereira Morales, 24, face one count each of aggravated organized retail crime. The indictments were announced by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office.

In February, Pacheco entered a not guilty plea to related charges in Hingham District Court, while Morales remains at large with a warrant issued for his arrest following the indictment. Pacheco is expected to appear for her arraignment at a date yet to be determined.

The incidents date back to October 2024, when surveillance footage captured Pacheco allegedly shoplifting at Sephora locations in Hingham and Hanover. The investigation identified her as the perpetrator, and she had previously been apprehended for shoplifting at a Sephora in Pennsylvania. It is alleged that Pacheco, in collaboration with Morales and others, stole nearly $7,000 worth of merchandise from Sephora in Hingham and about $5,000 from the Hanover location.

Further investigation revealed Pacheco and Morales were involved in similar thefts at Ulta Beauty stores across Massachusetts. They are accused of stealing over $2,000 in products from an Ulta store in Northborough and nearly $5,000 from a Framingham location less than an hour later. The pair allegedly continued their spree by taking almost $2,000 in luxury items from an Ulta in Braintree the same evening. Surveillance footage captured them at an Ulta in Woburn the following day, reportedly stealing approximately $4,600 in cosmetics and fragrances.

The duo is also linked to two thefts at an Ulta in Westwood. The first incident, in July 2024, involved the theft of $300 worth of merchandise, while the second, in October 2024, resulted in $213 in stolen goods.
