A 30-year-old man from Georgetown, Delaware, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on the evening of November 13 in Delmar, according to the Delaware State Police. The incident occurred at approximately 5:12 p.m. on Sussex Highway.
Authorities reported that a GMC Sierra pickup truck was traveling northbound on Sussex Highway near West Snake Road when, for reasons yet to be determined, it veered off the western edge of the roadway. The vehicle crossed the median, entered the southbound lanes, and ultimately struck a tree on the west side of the highway.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The crash resulted in the closure of Sussex Highway for approximately four hours as investigators processed the scene.
