Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), the successor to the KGB, announced the arrest of four Russian nationals allegedly involved in planning attacks on high-ranking Defense Ministry officials. According to the FSB, the plans involved sophisticated methods, including a remotely controlled car bomb and an explosive device hidden within an envelope, highlighting a level of preparation and intent that raises concerns about internal security breaches. A suspect from Uzbekistan was apprehended, allegedly recruited by Ukrainian special services, according to FSB claims. This individual supposedly played a key role in executing the assassination plot against Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov, a prominent leader in Russia’s Radiation, Biological, and Chemical Protection Forces.
