PASADENA, Md. – Anne Arundel County Police have launched an investigation into an armed carjacking incident that occurred late Monday night, involving two suspects who targeted motorists stranded on a roadside due to mechanical issues. According to departmental reports, the incident took place just before midnight on February 24 in the vicinity of Catherine Avenue and Harlem Avenue.

Investigators state that the victims had pulled over to assess a mechanical problem with their vehicle when a black SUV pulled up behind them. Two male suspects, described by witnesses as wearing dark hoodies, black pants, and ski masks, exited the SUV brandishing handguns.

According to the police statement, the armed suspects ordered the victims to surrender their vehicle. One suspect subsequently fled the scene in the victims’ Jeep Compass, while the second suspect departed in the black SUV used to facilitate the ambush. Officers responded to the scene and canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspects or the stolen vehicle immediately following the report.
