The FBI’s Buffalo office is seeking public assistance in an ongoing investigation involving a 67-year-old Attica man facing federal child pornography charges. Edward Forrester has been charged with the production of child pornography and possession of child pornography after a prior conviction, according to federal prosecutors.

The charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in prison. The investigation began in April 2022 after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted New York State Police about a Google user, allegedly identified as Forrester, who had reportedly uploaded files of suspected child pornography to YouTube.

According to prosecutors, one of the uploaded videos was described as potentially depicting newly produced content. Further investigation reportedly identified a victim in the video. In May 2022, authorities executed a search warrant on a camper and two vehicles belonging to Forrester in Wyoming County, seizing a cellphone and an electronic tablet.

A separate search was conducted at Forrester’s residence in Corfu at the time, where two additional cellphones were seized. A subsequent forensic analysis of the devices allegedly uncovered four images of suspected child pornography, including an image of the identified victim. Forrester initially faced state-level charges of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

The FBI is now urging anyone with specific information related to this case to contact the Buffalo Field Office at (716) 856-7800. It is important to note that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
