The body of Waylon Childs, a 4-year-old who went missing in Ormond Beach, was discovered by a dive team on Sunday night.

Authorities reported that Waylon Childs was last seen with his father and two younger siblings in Central Park, Ormond Beach. The children, all under five years old, were enjoying a day out when Waylon went missing at around noon.

The Ormond Beach Police Department confirmed that the Volusia County Dive Team located Waylon’s body at 9:02 p.m. near Fleming Avenue in Central Park. Ormond Beach Police Chief Jesse Godfrey expressed heartfelt condolences to the family, describing the situation as a ‘heartbreaking tragedy.’
