Authorities stated that the incident occurred at approximately 11 p.m. in the 12700 block of South Wentworth Avenue. The victim reported to investigators that he was walking in the area when two men approached him, displayed a firearm, and demanded his personal property.

The teenager told police that he attempted to flee the scene, at which point the assailants opened fire. The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his left thigh and right calf. Following the altercation, the teenager self-transported to Roseland Hospital, where medical staff listed him in stable condition with injuries expected to be non-life-threatening.
