In an unexpected turn of events, a vehicle collided with the bleachers at Plant High School, Tampa, after a crash involving two cars on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on the 2400 block of South Himes Avenue. According to the Tampa Police Department, two vehicles were involved in a crash which resulted in one of the vehicles being propelled into the bleachers at Plant High School. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported.
A woman involved in the accident was transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure, but she is expected to make a full recovery. In addition, a student from Plant High School, who was leaving campus at the time, was also struck during the incident. However, the student was unharmed, and their parents were promptly informed.
Principal Heather Holloway communicated with parents via a message detailing the incident. She reassured them that even though the crash created ‘quite a scene by our track,’ it did not impede school operations.
