NEW DELHI — Delhi University announced on Wednesday that it is significantly strengthening security measures across its campuses, colleges, and hostels. The decision was made during a meeting of the university’s proctorial board, which included college principals, hostel provosts, and department heads. According to a statement released by the university, the board discussed and approved several steps to tighten surveillance and prevent unauthorized access to its premises.

Enhanced Security Protocols

Key measures being implemented include an enhanced deployment of security personnel, strict identity verification procedures at all entry points, and comprehensive monitoring of vehicles entering campus areas. Access for outsiders will also be restricted as part of the new protocols.

In addition to increased manpower, the university will prioritize the installation and maintenance of CCTV cameras throughout its properties. The administration also plans to conduct random inspections of hostels to ensure compliance with the heightened security regulations.

Coordination with Law Enforcement
