Doral Community Celebrates Hanukkah with Hopeful Message

South Florida’s Jewish community gathered in Doral on Thursday night, marking the second night of Hanukkah with a festive menorah lighting ceremony.

The event, organized by the Chabad Jewish Center of Doral, drew a significant crowd eager to partake in the celebration of tradition and unity. Attendees were treated to kosher desserts and participated in raffle giveaways, enriching the festive atmosphere. The evening focused on the significant Hanukkah theme of spreading light amidst darkness.

Rabbi Avrohom Brashevitzky, who led the ceremony, emphasized the power of light during tough times. “Light is so powerful that just a small candle can push away a lot of darkness,” he stated, reminding the community that goodness can triumph over adversity.

As the impressively tall nine-foot menorah lit up the night, attendees were encouraged to embrace Hanukkah’s spirit by engaging in good deeds throughout the holiday season. This public celebration highlighted the festival’s core message—hope and resilience, and the victory of light over darkness.

The Hanukkah celebration in Doral served as a heartening reminder of the festival’s teachings of hope and perseverance through light and community togetherness.
