Fort Lauderdale Hit-and-Run Victim Seeks Justice

A harrowing incident unfolded in South Florida when Perry Aparicio, a 20-year-old student, was struck by a vehicle while riding his scooter near South Federal Highway and Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport. The driver fled the scene, leaving Aparicio unconscious by the roadside. Authorities are now searching for the driver responsible for this hit-and-run, with Aparicio and his family urging the individual to come forward.

On November 20, Perry Aparicio was on his way home when the unexpected happened. As he recalls, “I just remember the car speeding up in my rearview, seeing the headlights.” The impact left him unconscious, and when he came to, he found himself on the ground, bleeding from the head.

Despite the severity of his injuries, Aparicio managed to dial 911 before passing out again. He was later taken to the hospital, where doctors treated him for a brain bleed and extensive road rash. “I lost consciousness. I could have not woken up, that could’ve been it,” Aparicio reflected on his narrow escape.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident, hoping to track down the driver. Aparicio is determined to see the perpetrator brought to justice. “I’m hoping somehow we can find this person and get them off the street,” he stated. With numerous cameras in the area, Aparicio remains hopeful that they will capture the needed evidence.
