In a distressing incident, a Southwest Miami-Dade family claims their cherished French bulldog, Lola, was swiftly taken from their driveway by an unidentified individual in a black sedan.
Jennifer Perez, the dog’s owner, shared her emotional appeal with local news, describing Lola as not only friendly but an integral part of their family. “She is super friendly, she’s a snuggle bunny, she’s just an all-around great dog,” Perez expressed with evident affection.
The incident unfolded one evening when Perez’s husband, while tending to household chores outside, noticed a suspicious vehicle lingering near their residence on Southwest 120th Avenue and 240th Street. According to Perez, her husband was momentarily distracted by routine tasks when he saw a black sedan parked in front of their home. As he approached the vehicle to investigate, it quickly sped away, and it was then that the family realized Lola was missing.
The Perez family had taken Lola in only five months earlier, finding her in a malnourished state. “We didn’t really plan to keep her,” Perez confessed, “but we fell in love with her, and we just kind of decided that if we weren’t able to find her owner, we would keep her.”
Despite their hopes, there has been no sign of Lola since the peculiar car sped away. Perez voiced her concerns about Lola’s well-being, noting the widespread issue of French bulldogs being exploited for breeding purposes. “If you would have seen the condition that she was in when we rescued her, you would realize that there is a big problem, not just in Miami but throughout the nation, with French bulldogs being used for breeding,” she stated.
Hopeful for Lola’s return, the Perez family is offering a reward for any information leading to her recovery. They urge anyone with details regarding Lola’s whereabouts to contact the Miami-Dade Police.
