In a dramatic turn of events, authorities in Broward County successfully apprehended a wanted fugitive following a high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle on Saturday.
According to Lauderhill Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Parys Thomas, the chase commenced on West Sunrise Boulevard when officers identified a stolen Toyota Tundra, prompting immediate pursuit. The chase extended onto Interstate 95 and Griffin Road, where a Broward Sheriff’s Office helicopter provided air support, closely following the vehicle’s movement.
As the pursuit reached a critical point, the suspects, identified as Isaac King II and Terrance Thornton, the latter being a fugitive, attempted to evade capture by abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot. However, their escape was short-lived. BSO deputies managed to apprehend King and Thornton in Dania Beach, subsequently taking them to the Broward County main jail located in Fort Lauderdale.
The charges against King, aged 22, and Thornton, aged 20, are substantial, including grand theft auto, fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of a crash, and resisting arrest.
