A tragic accident on US-41 in Gibsonton led to the death of a local resident on Saturday night, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The incident occurred at the intersection of US-41 and Shirley Ave., when the victim, driving a Chrysler Concorde, unexpectedly crossed paths with a Mazda CX-5 heading south. The driver of the Mazda, a 57-year-old Tampa resident, collided with the Chrysler.
Following the collision, the driver and three passengers in the Mazda sustained minor injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Despite medical efforts, the Gibsonton man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
