The homeowner was awakened during the night by his dog’s barking, alerting him to the presence of an intruder. Upon arming himself, he discovered a 34-year-old man, Cameron McGuire, inside his residence, holding his child’s belongings.
According to the Lake Wales Police Department, despite the homeowner’s command to “freeze,” the suspect continued to advance. The homeowner then shot McGuire in the leg, effectively immobilizing him.
