Local resident Jenny Bailey, who witnessed the aftermath, described hearing a loud noise followed by a scene of chaos as she approached the overturned vehicle.
Bailey, who lives nearby, noted the commotion that followed, with ambulances and police swiftly responding to the scene. Surveillance footage from her backyard captured the emergency response teams attending to the accident. Bailey recounted the disruption of traffic, with vehicles unable to move in any direction due to the crash.
The Plantation Police Department reported that the initial crash involved a suspect attempting to evade arrest. The suspect, who was wanted on outstanding warrants, managed to flee, resulting in multiple collisions. Authorities continue to search for the individual, who remains at large.
Shortly after, a second crash occurred near Davie Road and State Road 84, involving a Plantation Police officer. The officer, whose identity has not been disclosed, was injured and transported to a nearby hospital. The other driver involved remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
