Officers initially responded to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital on the morning of November 30 regarding a report of child abuse. Police reports state that the seven-month-old boy arrived at the facility around 10:30 a.m., unresponsive and exhibiting shallow breathing. Medical personnel determined that the child had sustained severe internal injuries indicative of multiple instances of blunt-force trauma.

Due to the critical nature of the injuries, the infant was airlifted to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Investigators confirmed that the child succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on December 4, 2025.

During the preliminary investigation, the child’s mother informed detectives that she had left the infant in the care of her boyfriend, identified as Kameron Lamont Morgan, prior to the medical emergency. Following the child’s death, Morgan was charged with Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect and Second Degree Murder.
