A woman was found dead with a gunshot wound early on November 16 after her vehicle was involved in a single-car crash, prompting a homicide investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The incident occurred in the 7500 block of Dean Martin Drive.
According to a statement from the LVMPD, communications received a report of the crash at approximately 5:21 a.m. Responding officers discovered a vehicle that had struck a street sign. Medical personnel were on the scene attending to the female driver, who appeared to have been shot.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The LVMPD Homicide Section was immediately notified and has taken over the investigation. Detectives’ preliminary findings indicate the victim was operating the vehicle at the time of the collision.
The investigation remains ongoing. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity, as well as the official cause and manner of death, at a later time.
