OKLAHOMA CITY — A 24-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly shot and killed another man during a road rage incident early Wednesday morning, then returned to the scene and confessed to police. The victim was identified as 47-year-old Jeffrey Gill.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on the service road of Northwest Expressway near May Avenue. According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, Gill was walking in the roadway when he was approached by a vehicle driven by Darius Williams. An argument ensued between the two men.

Police officials state that during the confrontation, Williams allegedly shot Gill multiple times and fled the area. Emergency responders transported Gill to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead approximately one hour later.

In an unusual development, authorities reported that Williams later switched vehicles and returned to the crime scene. He then approached officers and confessed to firing the shots that killed Gill. “After that interview with the shooter, he was actually booked into jail on a murder complaint,” said Master Sgt. Dillon Quirk.

Williams has been booked into jail on a complaint of second-degree murder. It is important to note that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
