Miami Police Officer Involved in Crash in Southwest Miami-Dade

In a recent incident in Southwest Miami-Dade, a Miami Police officer was involved in a single-vehicle crash, highlighting traffic disruptions in the area.

The incident, which took place just after 3:30 p.m. on the northbound Turnpike Extension north of Quail Roost Drive, saw a Miami Police officer on their way to work when the crash occurred. Fortunately, the officer emerged unharmed, and no injuries have been reported.

Responding swiftly to the scene, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Florida Highway Patrol units ensured public safety and managed the situation. As a result of the incident, two lanes on the northbound side of the Turnpike Extension were blocked, which led to significant delays for drivers.

Emergency crews worked efficiently to clear the area, but traffic was notably slowed as the scene was secured and the roadways cleared. Drivers in the vicinity experienced delays as the traffic began to normalize with the removal of the blockages.
