The fatal incident occurred just before 8:15 p.m. south of Exit 11. Authorities report that three vehicles were involved in an initial crash at the location. Investigators state that after the collision, one of the drivers stepped out of their vehicle to assess the damage.

According to police findings, a tractor-trailer struck the pedestrian, pushing them into an active driving lane where they were subsequently hit by another vehicle. State Police confirmed that the operator of the tractor-trailer did not stop and is currently being sought by law enforcement. The identity of the victim has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
