ELKO COUNTY, Nev. – Nevada State Police have identified the motorist killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 80 earlier this month as 57-year-old Robert John Klang of Deeth, Nevada.

The fatal incident occurred near Wells on February 10, shortly before 6:20 p.m. According to a release from the Nevada State Police, a preliminary investigation determined that Klang was operating a gray Ram truck heading westbound in the right lane of I-80.

Investigators report that the vehicle failed to maintain its lane, initially running off the right side of the road. The truck then veered across the roadway, running off the left side before abruptly re-entering the lanes and overturning. Klang was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Investigative Outlook

The incident remains under active investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol’s Major Incident Reconstruction Team to determine the precise cause of the loss of vehicle control.
