The search on Thursday at a home in the 500 block of Peffer Avenue led to the seizure of crack cocaine and a heroin/fentanyl mixture, according to authorities.

The Niles Special Response Team executed the search warrant following an investigation by the Niles Detective Bureau and Street Crimes Unit. Officials stated that undercover officers had previously made controlled purchases of narcotics at the location, which provided the basis for the raid. The suspect was identified as Michael Crain.

During the search, officers reported finding 27 grams of crack cocaine and 11 grams of a substance believed to be a heroin and fentanyl mixture. These quantities were in addition to the drugs that had been previously purchased by officers during the undercover operation.

According to Niles Detective Captain John Marshall, this was the second occasion within a three-month period that law enforcement had raided this specific home. It is important to note that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
