A heated altercation in Miami Lakes led to serious charges for a 47-year-old man accused of attempted murder after a shooting incident.
Danny Michel Casavilla-Garcia, 47, remains in custody after being denied bond following his arrest for a shooting incident in Miami Lakes. According to police reports, the episode began in a parking lot at 15544 NW 77th Court where Casavilla-Garcia, allegedly under the influence, was capturing pictures and videos of several vehicles. This behavior reportedly included documentation of the victims’ cars.
The tension escalated when the vehicle owners confronted Casavilla-Garcia, instructing him to maintain a distance from their property. The confrontation quickly intensified, culminating in Casavilla-Garcia firing his weapon at the two individuals.
One victim, Cedeno Alvarado, reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to the pelvis while standing near the vehicle. The second victim, Angulo Moreno, who was inside the vehicle, escaped physical harm though a bullet shattered the driver-side window, damaging the passenger side rear door and window. Following the shooting, Alvarado sought refuge at a nearby gas station where he contacted emergency services. Moreno attempted to locate Alvarado after driving away and also alerted authorities.
Subsequently, law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, discovering Alvarado at the gas station who was then transported to a hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, Casavilla-Garcia himself called 911 revealing his whereabouts to the police. Upon arrival, officers apprehended him with a firearm found in his possession. During police questioning, Casavilla-Garcia admitted to drinking and using his firearm, candidly stating, ‘I’m not afraid of anyone.’
As investigations continue, Casavilla-Garcia faces multiple charges, including two counts of felony attempted murder. Despite his attorney’s claims of self-defense, the decision to hold him without bond underscores the severity of the accusations. Alvarado’s medical status remains uncertain as the investigation unfolds.
This incident highlights the severe repercussions that can arise from public altercations involving firearms. As authorities proceed with the investigation, the community remains focused on the health recovery of the victim and the legal proceedings against the accused.
