The New York Police Department has identified a Westchester County man as a second person of interest in the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run collision in Queens that resulted in the death of a bicyclist in October 2024. Investigators are requesting public assistance in locating Nedzad Korac, 53, of White Plains, who is sought for questioning regarding the chain of events that claimed the life of 36-year-old Amanda Servedio.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on the night of October 22, 2024. Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a burglary in progress near Crescent Street and 39th Avenue in Long Island City. Upon arrival, officers observed a 2023 Dodge Ram 1500 with an obstructed license plate leaving the scene. Authorities allege that when officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, striking two police vehicles and injuring two officers in the process.
The pursuit continued into Astoria, where the fleeing pickup truck allegedly ran a red light at the intersection of 34th Avenue and 37th Street. The vehicle struck Servedio, who was riding a bicycle and had the right of way, according to the Queens District Attorney’s office. The impact ejected Servedio from her bicycle, and she was pronounced dead following the collision. The suspects abandoned the vehicle approximately half a mile away and fled on foot.
Police previously arrested Bekim Fiseku, 54, of Staten Island, in June 2025 in connection with the crash. Prosecutors allege Fiseku was the driver of the Dodge Ram. He has been indicted on 12 counts, including murder in the second degree, assault, manslaughter, and unlawful fleeing of a police officer. Investigators recovered burglary tools, including a prybar and bolt cutters, from the abandoned truck, which was registered to Fiseku.
The NYPD describes the newly identified person of interest, Nedzad Korac, as standing approximately 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds. Photographs have been released to aid in the search. The investigation is being conducted with assistance from the FBI and U.S. Marshals.
