According to the Attorney General’s office, Auborn was indicted in October 2023 following an investigation into several suspicious deaths. Prosecutors stated that Auborn arranged to meet men for sexual encounters in northeast Columbus, utilizing these opportunities to dose the victims with drugs in order to steal their belongings.
The criminal activity resulted in the fatal overdoses of four men and the attempted overdose of a fifth individual. In a statement released Friday, Attorney General Yost credited the Columbus Division of Police and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) for their collaborative work. Yost noted that the “overwhelming amount of convincing evidence” and an “airtight investigation” were pivotal in securing the conviction without a trial.
“Today’s plea closes a tough case,” Yost said. “When law enforcement works together, there’s hope for families to secure justice.” The court has scheduled Auborn’s sentencing hearing for February 20.
