Palm Beach County’s Top High School Athletes for Fall 2024

In Palm Beach County, high school athletes have excelled across various sports during the fall 2024 season. The recent release of All-County honorees highlights outstanding performances in football, swimming, girls volleyball, cross country, golf, and bowling.

The spotlight in football shines brightly on Lincoln Graf and Teddy Hoffmann, both seniors from Atlantic High School, who have been named as offensive co-players of the year in the Palm Beach 7A-5A category. Meanwhile, Xavier Reid from West Boca Raton has earned the title of defensive player of the year in the same category.

In the 4A-1A football division, Jyron Hughley, a junior at Cardinal Newman, stands out as the offensive player of the year. The defensive category features co-players of the year: Levi Champion from King’s Academy, a sophomore, and Brennan King, a senior at Cardinal Newman.

On the volleyball courts, Mija Bendziute of Boca Raton has made her mark as player of the year in the 7A-6A girls volleyball category. Tekoa Barnes from Boca Raton Christian shines in the 5A-1A division.

The swimming and diving arenas have seen exceptional talent with Lucas Bailey of St. Andrew’s being named boys swimmer of the year. His female counterpart, Alexia Sotomayor, also from St. Andrew’s, claims the title for girls swimmer of the year.

Cross country showcases remarkable runners like Preston Sangely, a junior from Spanish River, who is celebrated as boys cross country runner of the year. On the girls’ side, Wellington’s senior Cameron Shelby earns her title with a commendable performance.

When it comes to golf, Joey Iaciofano, a sophomore from Oxbridge Academy, is recognized as boys golfer of the year. In the girls’ category, the honor is shared by Zoe Shamy, a senior from Jupiter, and Catherine Andino, a sophomore at West Boca.

The bowling lanes also witnessed significant achievements. Jake Muller, a senior at Jupiter, is awarded the boys bowler of the year, while Angelica Blimegger of West Boca, also a senior, takes home the girls title.

As the fall season of 2024 unfolds, the dedication and talent of these young athletes continue to elevate the standard of high school sports in Palm Beach County. Their achievements not only bring pride to their schools but also inspire their peers to strive for excellence.
