In a tragic incident early Saturday morning, a 20-year-old pedestrian lost his life on Philips Highway, Jacksonville, after being struck by two vehicles. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the fatal accident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. near Bowdendale Avenue.

The young man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was walking on the southbound lanes of Philips Highway when the unfortunate event took place. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, both a car and a box truck were traveling southbound when they hit the pedestrian. As of now, the reasons for the man’s presence on the highway at that hour remain unclear.

The collision resulted in the immediate death of the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car involved in the accident suffered minor injuries from the incident. However, the driver of the box truck was not reported to have sustained any injuries.

Authorities have yet to release further information regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident. There is a call for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation as FHP continues to examine the causes of this tragic event.
