BRAINTREE, Mass. — Braintree police are seeking criminal charges against two juveniles accused of carjacking a woman at gunpoint—though no weapon was displayed—in the parking lot of the AMC Braintree 10 movie theater on Friday evening.

According to the Braintree Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call reporting an armed robbery at the Grandview Road location at approximately 6:30 p.m. Investigators report that the victim was seated inside her vehicle when two suspects approached and knocked on the window. The individuals allegedly threatened to shoot the driver if she did not exit the vehicle immediately.

Fearing for her safety, the woman complied, leaving her wallet and personal belongings behind. The suspects then fled the scene in the stolen vehicle. Police noted that while a verbal threat regarding a firearm was made, the suspects did not display a weapon during the encounter.

Approximately one hour later, the Boston Police Department located the unoccupied vehicle in Boston. Braintree detectives stated that a witness provided critical information that assisted in identifying the two juvenile suspects following the incident.

Investigative Outlook

Law enforcement officials have not released the names of the accused due to strict privacy protections regarding juvenile offenders in Massachusetts. Authorities confirmed they are actively seeking criminal charges against the pair. It is important to note that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
