Furthermore, Trump inaccurately credited the Biden administration with an extended period of low inflation, which contradicts the 14% inflation experienced during Biden’s first two years, climaxing at 9.1% in June 2022.
Trump also revisited a past claim of winning the 2020 election, despite lacking evidence to overturn the verified results of President Joe Biden’s victory. His comments seemed to leverage his legitimate 2024 win to vindicate his false 2020 assertions.
Falsehoods extended to immigration, where Trump stated that over 13,000 murderers had been released into the US in the last three years, a claim refuted by experts who clarify that this figure pertains to individuals with homicide convictions spanning several decades.
Regarding international relations, Trump alleged that European countries refuse to import American goods, which is untrue. In 2023, the US exported significant volumes to the European Union, including over 271,000 vehicles in 2022, illustrating robust trade relationships.
Trump further misrepresented his involvement with Obamacare, claiming he saved it. In reality, he attempted to repeal the law, and subsequent efforts were aimed at weakening its provisions.
